There’s nothing particularly restrained about Insaniac—and that is part of its appeal. 33″ (84 cm), Midseason bloom. The standards are white with a very narrow gold edge, complemented by white style arms with yellow-edged crests. The white falls are dramatically marked with red-violet lines radiating outward from the center, then finished with a wide yellow-white edge. Bright tangerine beards provide another strong accent. The flowers are full and heavily ruffled, with a slight fragrance. Parentage: sibling of Bright Sunshiny Day × Painter’s Touch. (Thomas Johnson, 2012). Honorable Mention, 2014; Award of Merit, 2016; Wister Medal, 2019. Photo from Mid-America Gardens.
