Crafton Hills Iris Farm

Committed to growing
and hybridizing high quality Irises.

Crafton Hills Iris Farm is a small, family-run operation with a big passion for growing and hybridizing exceptional irises. What began in Redlands, California in 2013 has now flourished into our expanded home in Gardnerville, Nevada, where we continue to focus on quality, beauty, and sustainable growing practices. We’re grateful for the support that has allowed us to grow—from opening our online store in 2019 to cultivating more varieties than ever before—and we’re delighted to share our work with you.

2026 Selling Season

Due to our farm relocation in summer 2025, we will postpone opening online sales until we are able to complete our inventory and ensure accurate availability. We anticipate opening the store on March 27, 2026.

We will share updates and the official opening announcement on our Facebook and Instagram pages—please follow along for the latest information.

2026 Garden Visits

Our new iris farm located in Gardnerville, NV will be open by appointment on most Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in April and May 2026.  More information will be posted on this site in the coming months.  We look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful Gardnerville location and sharing the iris season with you!

Our Iris Shop

Fragrant Irises

These varieties produce a distinct, pleasing scent. Aromas vary widely—often described as light citrus, rich spice, or sweet honey. Fragrance intensity depends on time of day and weather.

Historic Irises

Irises that were introduced into commercial trade at least 30 years ago. These treasured older cultivars are valued for their classic forms, exceptional hardiness, and their important role in the development of modern iris varieties.

Non-Fragrant Irises

These varieties are primarily bred for their stunning color and form rather than scent. While some may possess a faint fragrance, that is not a defining characteristic of these blooms.

Guardian Garden Irises

These irises are designated as rare or endangered varieties, often from the Historic class. They are crucial to preserving the genetics of older iris cultivars for the future.

Tall Bearded Irises

These are the most popular and largest group of irises, typically growing over 27.5 inches tall. They are known for their ruffled petals and the "beard" of soft hairs on the lower falls.

Our Introductions

Crafton Hills Introductions feature our own hybridized irises, each carefully bred, evaluated, and registered with the American Iris Society. These selections reflect the creativity and dedication behind our work, offering distinctive colors, forms, and garden-worthy traits.

Dykes Medal Winners

We are pleased to offer numerous Dykes Medal irises, presented annually by the American Iris Society. This is the highest award an iris can receive, recognized for exceptional color, form, garden performance, and hardiness.
