Pompous Parrot is every bit as colorful and showy as its name suggests. 38″ (96.5 cm), Midseason to Late bloom. The standards are a muted salmon-pink with darker stitching along the edges, while the falls are a rich, velvety near-black purple. A creamy white butterfly pattern surrounding the beards breaks into purple lines and mottling before meeting a pale pink edge stitched in purple. Tangerine beards transition to light violet at the tips, adding another bright accent. The heavily ruffled flowers are carried on impressive show stalks with five branches and 16–17 buds. Slight sweet fragrance. Parentage: Girls Wanna Have Fun × seedling BB149C, a sibling of Princess Pretty Pink. (Paul Black, 2026). Photo by Paul Black.
