F. X. Schreiner is a refined and majestic amoena-style tall bearded iris with compelling contrasts that honor the legacy of its namesake. 40″ (102 cm), Midseason to Late bloom. The standards are silver-violet, gently infused with blue toward the midribs. The falls are rich purple-violet, edged with white veining that radiates from the beard. Beards are yellow at the base, tipping to purple. This is a ruffled specimen with good substance, and exhibits a strong stem habit—4 branches with 9 buds per stalk. (Schreiner, 2015). Honorable Mention, 2017. Photo from Schreiner’s Gardens.
