Our iris garden was started in earnest in 2013. Each year we have added new beds and more varieties of irises. In 2018 we added a new area with over 50 terraced planting boxes. Some of these planters are used to grow the rhizomes we sell online, some are used for our historic preservation irises, and the rest are used for our hybridizing program.
Our Online Shop
Our products are only available through our website and Facebook store. Our online shop is updated at the beginning of January when we have completed our estimated availability for the following summer – many varieties will be available consecutive years for ordering, and new irises will be added. Be aware that there are limited numbers of each variety, however we will do our best to supply your order as placed.
While we will certainly take emailed orders (see below), the online system is easier for the customer. Customers check out by using credit card, PayPal, or check. Please note that your credit card will be charged when you place your order.
Ordering by Mail or Email
If you don’t want to place your order online, and want to order by email, please prepare a list and email it to us together with your name, shipping address, desired shipping window, and email. We will email you an invoice with payment link (PayPal, credit card, or check). Your order will be pulled from our inventory list once payment has cleared.
What You Can Expect to Receive
By ordering from this site, you are purchasing iris rhizomes for delivery in summer. Prices quoted are for one iris rhizome cleaned, trimmed, bleached, labeled, and ready to plant. We hold a California Nursery Stock Certificate (CNSC) and our sales inventory is inspected per San Bernardino County guidelines.
When You Will Receive Your Order
Customers select their desired shipping timeframe during the purchasing check-out process. For the 2020 season, shipping windows to select from are:
- July 13-15, 2020
- August 10-12, 2020
- September 8-10, 2020
Our rhizome inventory is assigned to orders on a first-paid basis, regardless of shipping window. Orders are freshly dug, cleaned, trimmed, disinfected, and packed for shipping. Once it is packed your iris rhizomes reach you within 3-7 business days in most cases, by USPS.
Substitutions & Limited Stock
Most of our rhizomes are limited in stock, so place your order early!! We have established an inventory control on this website which helps to manage our sales. However, Mother Nature can be fickle, and sometimes our estimates are just wrong! If you have ordered a variety that can’t be delivered, we will contact you prior to shipping to provide alternatives, or to provide a refund.
What We Guarantee
We guarantee to ship top-quality rhizomes that are true to name, and are healthy and viable for planting. We guarantee that our irises are state inspected, assuring you of quality, disease-free rhizomes. Our shipments will be sent based upon customer’s shipping date selection at check-out. If rhizomes are not ready to be split late in the spring, we may split-ship orders, at our expense. Purchases of specially offered boxes, or “grab bags” of irises are guaranteed up to the cost paid originally by the customer. We will indicate sold out varieties on our website.
If any iris fails within the first month after shipping, please notify us by October 10 and we will replace your iris. It will be shipped the following year providing the variety is available. If it is not available, you will have the option for a full refund, or to select an iris of equal or greater value.
What We Can't Guarantee
Unfortunately we can’t guarantee the weather, or growing conditions in your garden. Nothing about nature is 100% predictable, but if you do your part–plant your rhizomes upon arrival, at the correct depth, with good drainage, and familiarize yourself with what iris need to thrive–all should go well. However, we can not be responsible for loss over winter or summer due to harsh weather conditions, or pests, or other conditions beyond our control. If you have questions, please contact us!
Returns are not practical. If there is a problem when you receive your order, contact us immediately.
A $30 minimum or 10% cancellation fee will be charged for any cancelled order. Sorry no cancellations after May 1st.
